In 1692 in the Ipswich Colony in Massachusetts, five families with magical abilities, referred to as "the Power", formed a covenant of silence to protect themselves from persecution. Four of the five bloodlines (Danvers, Parry, Garwin, and Simms) survive to this day; one family (the Putnams), lusting for more power, was banished, their bloodline disappearing without a trace until now.

The Covenant tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students at the elite Spencer Academy who are bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families that settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600s, the boys have all been given amazing supernatural powers. But their ability to shape-shift, defy gravity and perform superhuman feats of strength comes at a terrible cost: every time one of the Sons of Ipswich uses his magical powers, he ages prematurely, and the temptation to abuse the power makes it more addictive than any drug. What's more, life is only going to get harder for the young friends; they are given a taste of the Power at age thirteen. Then at the moment each boy turns eighteen, he will "Ascend", gaining far more potent —and addictive— powers.

As the new school year begins at Spencer Academy, students have gathered for a wild outdoor party to mark the end of summer. Hundreds of feet above the gyrating bodies, Caleb Danvers (Steven Strait) and his three best friends, Pogue Parry (Taylor Kitsch), Reid Garwin (Toby Hemingway) and Tyler Simms (Chace Crawford) walk to the edge of a dizzying precipice and drop unseen and unscathed before casually joining the fray. At the party, newcomer Sarah Wenham (Laura Ramsey), a former Boston public-school student, is introduced to the boys by her roommate Kate (Jessica Lucas), Pogue's girlfriend. The girls also meet an intriguing transfer student named Chase Collins (Sebastian Stan), who quickly ingratiates himself into the group.

When the police arrive to disperse the partiers, Caleb and his friends evade the authorities by driving off a cliff and using their Powers to land safely. Returning home, Caleb comes across his mother Evelyn (Wendy Crewson) drinking in the living room. With Caleb's birthday just a few days away, his mother is terrified her son will find it impossible to resist the lure of the Power like his father before him. Caleb assures her he'll be able to handle his new abilities.

S I N O P S I S

Impian memang tak selalu sama dengan kenyataan. Yang dalam angan-angan terlihat indah belum tentu sama indahnya saat benar-benar terjadi. Mungkin Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) dan Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) sudah tahu itu tapi tetap saja godaan untuk mewujudkan impian lebih besar dari kesadaran kalau impian kadang tak sama dengan kenyataan.

Allen Gamble dan Terry Hoitz adalah dua orang detektif yang berdinas di New York Police Department. Jangan keburu mengira kalau tugas dua orang detektif ini penuh ketegangan seperti dalam film. Mereka berdua adalah dua orang petugas kantor yang hampir tak pernah menghadapi peristiwa menegangkan. Allen memang tak keberatan bekerja di kantor sementara Terry justru sangat berharap bisa turun ke jalan.

Satu hal menyatukan Allen dan Terry adalah kekaguman mereka pada pasangan detektif Danson (Dwayne Johnson) dan Highsmith (Samuel L Jackson). Tak disangka-sangka, suatu ketika muncul kesempatan buat pasangan Allen dan Terry untuk untuk menjadi Danson dan Highsmith. Celakanya, saat kesempatan emas ini datang, yang terjadi justru sama sekali di luar perkiraan mereka.

Seorang pembunuh bertopeng seolah tak mau melepaskan para remaja SMA ini. Mimpi buruk ini juga tak berhenti sampai di sana karena bertahun setelahnya pun pembunuh bertopeng ini tetap berkeliaran.

Kini pembunuh bertopeng itu kembali muncul menghantui Sidney dan kawan-kawannya. Sidney yang semula mengira hidupnya sudah aman pun mau tak mau harus turun tangan menghadapi pembunuh bertopeng ini. Siapakah sebenarnya pembunuh bertopeng ini? Tak ada yang benar-benar tahu karena seolah pembunuh ini selalu bisa kembali memburu para korbannya.

S I N O P S I S

Bertambah umur memang tidak sama dengan bertambah dewasa. Konon malah katanya pria itu tak pernah menjadi dewasa meskipun umurnya sudah bertambah tua. Dan itu terbukti saat lima sahabat SMA bertemu lagi tiga puluh tahun sejak mereka lulus sekolah dulu.

Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler), Eric Lamonsoff (Kevin James), Kurt McKenzie (Chris Rock), Rob Hilliard (Rob Schneider), dan Marcus Higgins (David Spade) adalah lima sahabat karib semasa SMA. Tiga puluh tahun setelah lulus SMA, kelima sahabat beserta istri-istri mereka berencana untuk mengadakan reuni.

Hari kemerdekaan Amerika Serikat, tanggal 14 Juli, pun dipilih sebagai saat yang tepat untuk mengenang masa lalu mereka. Tiga puluh tahun memang waktu yang cukup panjang namun ternyata waktu yang panjang itu tak banyak mengubah kelima sahabat karib ini. R E V I E W

Former SWAT officer Jeff Talley is a hostage negotiator in Los Angeles. Talley is negotiating with a man who has taken his wife and son hostage after learning she has been cheating on him. Talley denies a SWAT commander's request to give snipers the green light to take out the suspect. There are three gunshots in the house. Talley runs through the barricaded door and finds the man and his wife dead. In the boy's room he finds the son, who passes away in Talley's arms. This leaves Talley emotionally scarred. He moves with his family to become police chief in Bristo Camino, a (fictional) peaceful suburban hamlet in Ventura County, California.

A year after the incident, Talley finds himself in another hostage situation. Two teenagers, Dennis and his brother Kevin, and their mysterious accomplice Marshall "Mars" Krupcheck take hostage Walter Smith and his two children, a teenager and a young child, in Smith's house after a failed robbery attempt. The first officer to respond, Carol Flores, is brutally shot twice by Mars just before Talley and a fellow officer arrive. Talley attempts to rescue the seriously injured officer, who dies in front of him. Traumatized and unwilling to put himself through yet another life-or-death situation, Talley hands authority over to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department and leaves.

Smith has been laundering money for a mysterious criminal syndicate through offshore shell corporations. He was preparing to turn over a batch of important encrypted files (recorded on a DVD) when he was taken hostage. To protect such incriminating evidence from discovery, the syndicate orders someone known only as the Watchman to kidnap Talley's wife and daughter. Talley is told to return to the hostage scene and stall for time until the organization can launch its own attack against Smith's house.

Dennis has his partners Mars and Kevin tie up the kids. Dennis pistol-whips Walter, knocking him out, then finds a large amount of cash. He offers half to Talley to help Dennis and Kevin (but not Mars) escape. The police bring a helicopter. Dennis and Kevin are ready to go, but the chopper is for three people and Mars won't leave without Jennifer.

Kevin throws the money in the fireplace and Dennis punches him. Thomas escapes, grabs his father's gun and talks to Talley on Jennifer's cell phone.

S I N O P S I S

Saat masih kecil Kyo Kusanagi (Sean Faris) hampir saja mati di tangan ayahnya sendiri. Ayah Kyo tak ingin putranya terpengaruh untuk menjadi seorang petarung. Sebagai akibat, Kyo mengalami koma. Saat terbangun, Kyo hanya merasakan kemarahan dan kebingungan namun itu belum seberapa karena Kyo bakal terlibat konflik yang berbuntut hancurnya dunia.

Rugal Bernstein (Ray Park) punya satu obsesi. Ia ingin menjadi petarung yang terbaik di seluruh dunia. Dalam menjalankan rencananya, Rugal tak pernah punya keraguan. Kini Kyo tak punya pilihan selain menghadapi Rugal dan menggagalkan semua rencana biadab Rugal. Kyo tak sendiri. Iori Yagami (Will Yun Lee) dan Mai Shiranui (Maggie Q) yang akan mendampingi Kyo menyelamatkan dunia.
